I don't have kids, so it's not a big day for me. But I am thinking about my Da, who gave me a decent home to grow up in and an example of determination, honesty, and hard work.

Here he is as a test pilot for Lockheed, at a reassembly plant in England during WWII. The plane is a P-38 Lightning, his favorite. The planes he tested had no guns mounted, and the air was full of German fighters. So he got rather good at evasive maneuvers and also at surviving crashes.

I thought we have a Father's Day thread but he seemed like a great man to have as a dad.
