My Berkeley Eng. Candu-EZ mini tug has left left the shop after 3 years gestation and is heading to the leanto for final assembly. The pilot house is complete and only needs reassembled onto the boat, glued, screwed, sanded, etc. If there are any mini tug fans still around I will post more pics shortly....D.C.https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5273/14143108229_6661d47e9c_z.jpghttps://farm6.staticflickr.com/5311/14329762305_b8e49b238b_z.jpg

THATS AWESOME, must have been a great feeling rolling her out into the light, I quite like the look without the wheelhouse, looks a bit like one of those mini dutch tugs. well done

Fun little boat. I'm anxious to see it with the wheel house on it. Where will you be using it?

Looks good. Nows the time to do some tugging.

does that micro tug have a horn ?

if not, get one...a loud one. The big boys just dont give micros any respect...you need to blast em.

Our Veterans' day parade had more than a few cars/trucks equipped with Locomotive Horns. The power is unbelievable and earsplitting. Not recommending this for parades, but for boats on open water.......

That mini tug needs a decent stack and a light mast.

Beautiful build!

Thanks, a light mast is coming and the loudest electric horn I can find. No room for air tank or compressor. I've built some scaled down nav. light boxes that really look good. Wish I had thought to set them on for the pic.....D.C.

High visabilty paint on the wheel house always looks good on A tug.

Looks absolutely fantastic :) I noticed the visor is missing and I think it looks a lot smarter without it (another idea of yours I may have to borrow)

Thanks all for the kind words and suggestions. The hull is Rustoleum semi gloss black and the house will be Rustoleum Regal red. I've had good luck with their paint in recent years. I thought the visor was a bit too "cute", so, there it is....D.C.

Aft and on the cabin sides, not the top?

Love it.
If you put them forward then that gives you the potential for further mods/ development later if needed, say if you wanted to get the bow of a dinghy sitting on the cabintop, or throw something else up there, net box or something.

DC, I lean towards centering the running light assemblies about center vice the present location. Aside from that, she looks great.

Like this? Thanks guys,I've got to make a decision, fast. D.C.

Hi DC. Yep, I personally think it looks better centered like this. But of course, if it's easier to run your wires with the light assembly aft, then that makes sense too. But having it centered and then fleshing out the top with horn(s), spotlights and other tuggy things will make it all look like a proper tug to the big boys.....

I'd like to see how they look on the side of the house to the rear also. Just below the top.

Will you be concealing the engine behind a faux smokestack?
