Don't you know, this type of infrastructure project will destroy the sun, and therefore the planet earth!!!

I wonder how they would stand up to salt and snow plows. I know that a couple inches of snowfall would melt off, but how about a foot of snow? Are these only suitable for southern climes?

I also see that there are solar roof shingles. The advantage to solar shingles, besides the energy, is that they ARE the roof, as opposed to poking holes and setting up a structure on top of shingles, thus making roof repairs difficult.

Doesn't make sense to me, and I am very much pro green energy technologies. .

I suppose I could see it for nitch applications like certain parking lots or pick-up/drop-off zones at airports... but the idea of doing this on a large scale seem preposterous to me.

Putting solar panels on roofs makes a heck of a lot more sense.

RI can't seem to maintain asphalt roads, electrical roads, sure, no worries

Seems to me combining road design and generating electricity is like making a car/boat hybrid. It's possible but not practical.
