Bump...Tommy, let's keep this up at the top. Eventually one of the forum's CC experts will see it. In that size, the models aren't too numerous, so it should be easy to ID. They made Corinthians (I believe) and Constellations in those sizes, but there may be others as well.
It would be helpful if you could post a picture of the boat.
You should have Mariner's Museum's email soon, with instructions on finding hull#'s.

That number is a hull documentation number, it sounds like, from the government. This number can be tracked to its original builder certificate.

I did a search on the documentation query site and number 45533 came up as an invalid documentation number.

The number could be a company production number that will only help after you identify the builder. What makes you think it's a Chris Craft? Rutherford N.J. is probably where your answers will be found. Looking forward to the photos.

I grew up in NJ, but about an hour south of Rutherford, so I don't know that area very well, but I'd be suprised if any yard that was in business there in the 50's or 60's is still around, or has anything to offer. I will say that one of our family boats for 10 years growing up was a 1950 46'C.C. In the 50's & (at least) early 60's Chris Craft put the hull number on just about anything movable. Even if the original hull plate is missing you should be able to find the number stenciled somewhere that hasn't been painted. Check all the drawer bottoms, under any tables, the bottoms of all hatches, the underside of dinette seat cushions etc. There were multiple places that it was on our boat. You should be able to find it somewhere. Good luck.
