There should be a repellent then?

Or just soap?

I like this bit from the link.

The Tiger Snake is another deadly creature in Australia. If you become infected there is only a 45% survival rate.

Infected with Tiger snakes? The horror!....

Tiger snakes are the standard reptile round my place, we see 5 or 6 every sumer and it being so warm I'm still being careful. It's the one you don't see thats dangerous. But we also have Red Bellied Black snakes and Lace Monitor lizards that like to eat Tigers for lunch.
As for deaths in 2013, ""So far this year we've had five deaths which is several above average - usually we average two deaths each year," he said." Most deaths are in remote locations, or in one case a drunk who didn't know he'd been bitten.

A security guard at a tourist place in Chiang Mai got killed by a python about that size a while back.

Recently came back from Adelaide with the girl follwing on her Ducati. A few Ks' out of town I spotted a big old Tiiger snake heading across the road.
Now normally I do my very best to avoid snakes on the road as they belong out there in the bush but a quick look in the rear vision mirror showed that if I let him go he would neatly coincide in the middle of the road with the girl on her bike. I crossed the white line just enough to run over the poor buggers' head. Got Him! Watched in horror in the mirror as he flew a good 4 foot into the air and whistled past the girls' head!! Embarassing to say the very least.

She spent the next week telling all and sundry that it had wrapped itself twice round her neck but that was ok as she bit its' head off....

Fabulous stuff.

I dare you to come over to Laos and try that with a King Cobra. They are lightning fast... scary bastards. They get up to 20' long too.... although the ones I've had go across in front of me have all been arm-thickness, 8-10' long.

I saw a keelback going across the road a couple of weeks ago in Thailand. Funniest thing ever... going flat out in big s bends... and hardly moving forward. Saw the most beautiful golden / some black one too, no idea whether poisonous or not ....

Probably it is a Red-necked keelback.

Frankly I'd be inclined to exchange business cards.
