Setting aside the gun fetish, for a moment...

the really strange thing about this is that these are the same people who complained about Obama "giving stuff away" and freaked out about ACORN registering voters.

This gun giveaway is old hat for reds. They had one in Tucson not long after the Gabby Giffords mass shooting.

If you want SICK, they gave away the same kind of gun used in the shooting. Nice touch, eh?

It's more than sort of sick.

No problem.

While a few Republicans are capable of good work... the fact is that the good ones ENABLE the majority of EXTREMELY BAD ones.

No Republican on any level of government gets my vote again until the party cleans up its act. I fear a long wait.

Is mine an extreme position? I am only saying how I will personally vote and encourage others to do likewise. Does anyone think that to be a more extreme position than those who advocate violent civil disobedience and revolution? A few of those folks reside in the Bilge....

Sickness is your rabid intolerance of "anything guns" by law abiding citizens. I'd guess you would be "hanging mad" at a bank offering a nice deer rifle for sizable investments in bank CD's? Why can't you simply acknowledge that states like Texas or Wyoming may have different cultural viewpoints than would ever exist in say.... NY city?

You can't fix "stupid" and you can't legislate "commonsense" or "eradicating crazy people". Many positive suggestions such as federalizing any gun crime for maximum penalties... have been put forth. You know that such a move would make a dramatic change in gun/crime incidents. What about some serious mental health strategies?

How about leaving the law abiding citizens/gunowners alone.

Do a Google search for "girls and guns."

Then try a similar search for any other tool.

"Girls and screwdrivers" "Girls and allen wrenches." "Girls and compound miter saw."

There is a difference, both qualitative and quantitative.

You might not be willing to admit it, but everyone else can see it.

I like the sincerity in the pic, there's so much more one could put in the scene but it's perfect as is. Gilding the Lily so to speak.

As I said before, "You might not be willing to admit it, but everyone else can see it."

The fact that you're not willing to admit it kinda tells us something important about you.

Be honest. You didn't even try the google search, did you? Go ahead and try it. Find out how millions of people associate guns and girls. Do some of the media analysis you invested so much effort into mastering.

Let us know what you find. Publish your results. Who knows... you might even get one of those lucrative research grants you're always talking about.

The Dunning-Kruger effect occurs where people fail to adequately assess their level of competence — or specifically, their incompetence — at a task and thus consider themselves much more competent than everyone else.

Given that there are over 37,000 registered Forumites I'd say mine is a pretty safe statement. ;)

I posted that pic for the same reason I posted the others on this thread. To document the existence of gun ferishists.

As for my crack about the fellow in his briefs posing with his guns, ammunition and guitars likely resembling many Forumites... I was referring to his buff physique.

Colorado huh? Legal dope and high powered weapons, what could possibly go wrong?

I do find it funny when residents of one region get all wrapped around the axle about something happening 1000 miles away.
If I really didn't care for a law, custom or culture in a certain state or area I'd just choose not to go there. I wound not call for laws against the behavior.
Legal gun ownership is a big part of the culture in certain parts of this country. Don't like it, stay home.

This reminds me of a program on HGTV where a husband and wife were moving from Boston to Charleston. Obviously not hurting for $$ they were looking at one of the historic properties near the battery. They both loved it, but when the wife saw one of Charleston's many horse drawn carriages she went into a tirade about how she needed to get this practice outlawed.
If you choose to move to an very differnt region either figure on assimilating or don't go. Don't expect everybody else to change to suit you.
