I used it on Prairie Islander's hull because I used System Three epoxy and figured I'd be smart to stay with one "system" thoughout. It has proven to be extremely durable, seems to me. I thought I was reasonably competent with a spray gun but found WRC to be tricky to apply. Seems the trick is to apply a very thin coat, let it flash off, then another until one gets the coverage required. My boat does not have the shine the new boats I saw recently at Hinkley which are done with Awlgrip. But then, I wouldn't want it to either.

A friend of mine has been spraying the stuff and was having problems getting a uniform surface . Acting on System 3's advice he tried a slightly bigger orifice in his gun and says it solved that problem .

Steve, I've used the System Three paint on several boats and do like it. Like Norm says its very durable. I've heard folks talk about it being tricky but then that goes for most other brands as well. I find it fairly easy to work with , easy cleanup with water and no problem with bad fumes.
I do wear a resperator when spraying. It also goes on easily with a roller and you'd have to do a very good job with ther sprayer to beat it. This is mostly because it does a nice job of flowing out.
I also brush it in some cases.
Norm there are two things you can do to get a shinier finish if thats what you want . One is to apply a coat of the wr-lpu clear. The other is to sand the paint with very fine wet-dry paper and rub it out. I think System Three has some detailed instructions on that. I like the semi gloss look myself. I do notice that rolling gives a shinier job than spraying but thats probably because I'm not that good with a spray gun.

I regularly use flattening agent in Awlgrip paints I spray. What kind of life expectancy is advertised for this stuff?

Shinier the finish the more the print through shows. I got it just right... by accident.
Flattening agents in Awlgrip!? That sort of defeats the purpose of using it doesn't it. Man those plastic monsters at Hinkley glowed to the fair thee well.
