In this election will the Republicans wise up?

Republicans in the most part try to explain logically why their programs are better for the country.
Democrats in the most part play on people’s emotions to get their vote.
If the Republicans were smart they would showcase victims of Democrat policies.
    Some example would be
    1. Obamacare - Cancer patients who cannot keep their doctors.
    2. School vouchers - Poor inner city moms who’s children are trapped in poor schools.
    3. Over regulations – Workers who are losing their jobs because of the EPA.
    4. IRS scandal – Americans who are being targeted by the IRS because their beliefs.

One more time: This is a LIE. It has been debunked multiple times, so conclusively that it's damn near a miracle that anyone capable of logging on to the WBF and writing a coherent English sentence doesn't realize it.

As far as #1 goes, for every example they can bring up, the Democrats can give you 1000, perhaps 10,000 people who have insurance now and didn't before. Cry me a river.

If that's the best you've got, might as well go home now.

          Wise up about what?

The're in the midst of their own civil war pushing dead end delusions about infinite growth, short term economic reward to solve structural problems, inhibiting women's access to health care, religious belief, denying science that conflicts with business as usual, removing environmental regulations in pursuit of fossil fuels. No it won't wise up.

Re: In this election will the Republicans wise up?

I'd adore it if this election, Republicans tried to convince voters based more on facts and solid policy proposals rather than emotion. I think you have it almost entirely backwards.

I'm not alone. We had this discussion back in the Bush/Kerry election ... and Republican supporters like High C observed that it's ineffective to talk about policy - that really, you elect people on character and your general support for what you suspect will be their decision-making orientation. That it's a wrongheaded notion usually followed by Dems to focus on specific policy proposals instead, because that doesn't reflect the nature of the real world - which changes swiftly, and will often require a different approach than the one you may have campaigned on. Voting for character and decision-making orientation rather than rote policy proposals made more sense, said he.

              |I think there's some validity in that, but that the better choice yet is to base one's electoral choices on a combination of the two.

I've yet to feel that solid policy proposals were at the core of any Rep program - though they've often been the domain of Dem policy wonks, who've not understood why policy discussions haven't been convincing or even appealing to the Rep voter.

                1. Personal disposable income has grown nearly 6 times more under Democratic presidents
                2. Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has grown 7 times more under Democratic presidents
                3. Corporate profits have grown over 16% more per year under Democratic presidents (they actually declined under Republicans by an average of 4.53%/year)
                4. Average annual compound return on the stock market has been 18 timesgreater under Democratic presidents (If you invested $100k for 40 years of Republican administrations you had $126k at the end, if you invested $100k for 40 years of Democrat administrations you had $3.9M at the end)
                5. Republican presidents added 2.5 times more to the national debt than Democratic presidents
                6. The two times the economy steered into the ditch (Great Depression and Great Recession) were during Republican, laissez faire administrations

A society predicated on the assumption that everyone in it should want to get rich is not well situated to become either ethical or imaginative.

Really? All I seem to hear from Republicans is Fear, Hate, and Lies™. They don't seem to like evidence-based reasoning; maybe that's due to reality's well-known liberal bias.

What are you doing about it?

Ah yes, the undisputable red logic of "Fear, hate and lies" and the immutable platform of "God, guns and abortion".

This post is obnoxious and you should be reprimanded for it.

Why do all of you feel the need to be obnoxious, leave the guy alone. You don't agree fine, stop being jerks about it.
