Nice. What kind of skin? Nylon, Dacron, baby seal, eagle skin ...? What weight of fabric?

Very authentic photo, joe! Nothing like a little ice and snow to make a Greenland kayak look right at home :D Sharp looking boat, too.

The skin is 12 oz. nylon. It is coated with about 15 coats of waterbased polyurathane. The plans are avalable in a book by robert morris. you can get it on amazon.

It is a great, and fast, project--about 6 weeks total. I haven't had a chance to use it. everything is frozen at home and here. I'm looking out my hotel room right now over Toronto island. I think I'll go for a walk to Buffulo :D

He doesn't sell plans, per se. His book describes an anthropometric method of determining kayak dimensions (ie. based on your specific body size and shape). A Morris West Greenland kayak ranks pretty high on my "to-build" list.

Joe Schena -- nicely done.
