I liked the kitten and ferret story.

We have a neighbor half a mile across the lake, who has installed an outdoor floodlight which is so bright that aircraft of the 509 Bomb Wing who overshoot the runway at Whiteman Air Force Base could safely land in our bedroom.

I study the neighbor's floodlight nightly through a telescopic sight.

I find that funny, but in my view it isnt typical Aussie humour, it is not direct.

A more typical example was at a cricket test match where an English player swatted at insects while fielding. Some wag in the crowd shouted out: "LEAVE OUR BLOODY FLIES ALONE!"
