I'm glad this didn't happen just few months ago, because it could have crushed into jelly a trio of your favorite jihadis who just happened to be rowing around this point on the way to PT.

I'm sure there will be plenty more to find out about this to come, but here's the first read I found.

My dear brother lives very close. . .and I will be sure to ask him to go get some more pics and report back. Hmm. . .might have to get in the kayak and paddle down to visit myself this weekend.

My dad was up at Hansville when it happened. He said there are fire engines and sheriff's deputies everywhere. I guess they're worried about leaking fuel.

A tugboat is being dispatched from Alabama. The recalcitrant skipper was heard to say "Ahmm going too lug yawl of the rocks', authorities are looking for lug yawls that were in the area. A spokesman foor the red cross said there were going to be some big food bills, authorities are looking for someone to pay the big food bills.

Certainly not the first time that a lighthouse has appeared to be elusive and erratic. However they are generally considered to be the stand on vessel, if only because of their considerable ballast and governmental associations.

I hope the lighthouse was on Starboard tack and the Zune wasn't just Rowan around!

Definitely the lighthouse to blame,
It was not displaying the correct shapes

Oh come on, you know on-deck nudity, sex and a miss set auto-nav system were involved. I bet he told his conquest that he owned the barge!

My dad says the boat is still up on the rocks. The lighthouse might fall over.

I wish you had been there, James - you could have told the owner that a mizzen would keep the boat docile while he had his way with the secretary.

I used to live on top of the cliff down the road. Love that lighthouse and fishing that beach. It will be a shame if it all gets tore up.

That article was funny -- I loved the part about the "taunting lighthouse operator."

Not really all that funny when you realize it is just a hoax from a bored blogger in Bremerton (or somewhere around there).
The photoshopped image is the real joke. :)

So's the article! If you cruise around here, knowing nothing more than what's in the photo, you'd know it was a hoax.

So, tell me skipper, how fast was that drunk "Keep" going when he slammed his lighthouse into your port side?

Allan,

Yep, lighthouses under tow have the right of way unless there are other "special circumstances," circumstances like when one lighthouse is towing a barge is in a narrow channel while another lighthouse is crossing the same channel while towing Jupiter.

Why this tug in particular?
