    resolutions

    1. refrain from feeding the trolls
    2. build a fooking boat
Simpler is better, except when complicated looks really cool.

#2 is too hard. Start with a nice simple rowboat.

          Re: resolutions

To spend more time concerning myself with important issues (personal or worldly), and less time thinking about what some crackpot on a reality TV-show says.

          So far,so good.

            Happy new year! Excellent resolutions!

Regarding #2, how about a boat that will just float nicely? A boat that will actually f... might be a bit challenging for a start and if you get the f... thing wrong, it might s... .. Another idea - iirc, your swmbo had a wooden motorboat which needed some work. What happened to that boat? Is it in commission?

Its under cover and in storage at her family's farm home on the west side of the state. We would like to work on it, but from a time, money, and distance standpoint its out of the question this year. Structurally its in good shape, but needs all of its systems rebuilt and it needs to be stripped and repainted and revarnished.

Paul, I fully understand that the distance hinders work on the project. Restoration and long distance travel don't go together well. It sounds as if you might need a purpose built little barn in Hell and then could transport it on the Highway to Hell. Sounds like more than enough things to do in 2014.

Have a good year, all of you!

Like 60% of Americans who make New Years Resolution, I resolve to lose weight. Yeah, right..... I'll give it a shot, anyway. And, I resolve to finish building my boat.
I was born on a wooden boat that I built myself.

Try building this skiff from a single sheet of plywood.

Somehow it just feels like Wednesday to me. But I do have a couple boats to finish this year. And it would be great to see you start a build thread, Mr Pless.
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.
