      So how did he use that bit without a brace? BTW I saw the first film years ago, it was pretty good.

          The bit has a large wooden "T" handle on it.

          I enjoy those films. He gets more done in 20 minutes than I can in a couple months.

                Now I can see it....I was looking for a eye or loop at the top of the bit.

                    When you have to hike in with everything on your back you tend to pick the essentials. I got a Swiss army knife and a Pulaski so I'm good to go anytime.
