About as large a boat as fits through the existing Mitchel's River Bridge between Stage Harbor and The Mill Pond, Chatham. This will be Marmalade's dock companion/wind break for the winter.

Sardine carrier or yacht based on a sardine carrier?

Sardine carrier gradually becoming a home.

There was a bit less room on the other side.

The stern has just cleared and at this point the bow is but a fathom from the shore. It's a 4 point bend here. Dave's old boat, somewhat shorter but less nimble in the turn, required a "coonass turn", named for the Louisiana tuggies who put the bow against the shore on the outside of a bend and, full ahead with hard rudder, work the stern up the channel backing off the bank, putting the bow in the other bank to swing around pointed the right way, and off. Pretty amazing to see it done in Chatham. But Strathaven is too long for that move. Being a sardine carrier she's amazingly nimble. Just after this shot, Dave put her hard port and bumped the throttle and she made the turn in three feet.

Oh yeah, the wind and current put her rail against the bridge about half way through.

Methinks dry stack exhaust.

thats what I first thought too. But I think the shiny kettle is really a vent cowl.
