Tepco's plan for Fukushima's spent fuel rods
There is no rational, logical, or physical description of how free will could exist. It therefore makes no sense to praise or condemn anyone on the grounds they are a free willed self that made one choice but could have chosen something else. There is no evidence that such a situation is possible in our Universe. Demonstrate otherwise and I will be thrilled.Tags: None -
Re: Tepco's plan for Fukushima's spent fuel rods
A point I have been agreeing with for some time now.
Read an article the other day that notes one of the fuel rods is bent almost 90 degrees and is an unknown fragile state, and shockingly, this occurred long before the earthquake.
I sure hope this does not go badly...
This could dangerously effect all mankind. If ever there was an excuse for UN intervention, this is it.Gerard>

Seriously Gerard? I wouldn't bother if I was you. If it happens, or more likely, when it happens, I don't think it'll make much difference.
Now, if you've just finished building a Wharram 52', today might be a good day to head south.Comment

Re: Tepco's plan for Fukushima's spent fuel rods
Yeah, three fuel rods out of over 1500 are thought to be damaged enough to possibly present an extraction problem. Of course, three fuel rods will never in a million years amount to a pile that can sustain a fission reaction, so they don't present any meltdown danger whatsoever. Funny how the alarmists leave that part out.
(So, Mike - gonna lock this thread now, too?)What are you doing about it?

Umm.... Courtney, this isn't my thread. I won't be locking it.
Did you even watch the video?
I saw many twisted racks of fuel rods that will not be removable.
I saw concrete kibble sprinkled over the tops of the racks that will jam fuel rods in place or break them into pieces.
I saw a totally inept jury rig structure to replace the destroyed cranes.
I saw a building twisted by an earthquake and impacted by an explosion with nothing plumb or level.
The evidence is before you and yet you maintain the "only three rods damaged, no problem whatsoever" fiction.
Tell us again what your agenda is.

Oh, good.
I think I have mentioned before that I don't watch videos and I don't consider them to be reliable documentation.

You haven't presented any reliable evidence whatsoever. As for my "agenda", it's quite simple. I acknowledge the fact that nuclear power is relatively safe and probably necessary to our future, I acknowledge the fact that there is a huge amount of anti-nuclear propaganda and hysteria, and I try to counter that propaganda and hysteria when I encounter it.What are you doing about it?
