Australia opts out.

A shame. You'll miss out on trick or treats.

I hear it is becoming popular in Gemany?

You should see it here.

Those two (and a half) girls obviously have no brains! I mean look at the ugly dudes they're half nekked with! Unless it's... HOCK SHORROR... STAGED and paid!!!!

Two small neighbourly debils en-route for treats here!

It most certainly is celebrated in the Philippines, along with All Saints and All Souls (the Day of the Dead) in the Mexican manner, because the Philippines was governed from Mexico until the 1820's).

The only question for Filipinos is whether Advent starts before October 31st or on November 3rd!

Anyway, job done...

That first picture is Dia de Los Muertos, on Nov 2. You can celebrate both!

(I do think the fashion for ultra-skinny female models may have gone a bit too far)

Living in the suburbs of Long Island, NY for over thirty years, I was besieged with the little monsters from 3p.m. until at least 10p.m.
I could hardly sit down for a minute without a knock on the door. If you didn't open your door, you risked egg on your house/car.
Now living in the middle of no where without a kid in sight is pure bliss. Ah....nothing but peace and quiet tonight.
That's the 'grumpy old man' in me, coming out.

BOO!!! There, I've done my duty.:)

It's celebrated here. A Dentist's dream! I'm giving the little twinkies little bags of dried fruit and nuts. For no other reason but, to drive dentists nuts!:)

What exactly are we celebrating?

10-31-2013, 09:10 AM
We don't make a big deal out of it.

I don't see any costumes, unless those aren't real women?

We really downplay the whole Halloween/Dia de los Muertes thing.

Well done Austin.

I happen to be in Boston for Halloween this year, alas in the western suburbs. Today at the airport the woman who took boarding passes was dressed as a can of coke. The guy who checked me in at the hotel was a lame Phantom of the Opera (as if there is some other kind).

Who has trick or treaters yet? Any decent costumes?

I was in Siem Reap, Cambodia this time last year. The visiting Americans improvised and held a parade. I'm pretty sure they were working in local orphanages and involved the kids. Good stuff.
