Thanks, all. I find that birthday's become less important the older you get.

I am glad to be in pretty good health (I think) and my mind seems to be working pretty much as well as it ever did. One habit I have picked up in the last few months is reading the death notices in the local rag. Amazing how many people younger than I am seem to be popping off. I find the ones that had dementia depressing. My mother had dementia and it was a sad experience watching her slowly loose her brain power. That is one reason why I have no plans of ever completely retiring although I don't know if that will really make a difference one way or another.

My personal trainer, nasty piece of work that he is, says I am his oldest client. He likely killed the other ones off. I find that I have really benefited from going to the gym three mornings a week.

WB 235 arrived today which was a nice birthday present.

Going out with a few friends for Chinese tonight.

Orca, that Senate thing is beyond belief. The sad thing is that I tend to believe Duffy and Wallen before I would believe Harper. Sad state of affairs but what can be done about it?

Edited to add: Giving up smoking was a good thing as well.

I do too, but nothing will happen unless enough Con back-benchers decide they can no longer trust Harper and he loses a confidence vote. Not too likely IMNSHO.

Time will tell. We can only hope. I really wish there were reasonable alternatives. I might start looking into the Green Party,

I've been supporting them for years, but it's largely symbolic until we have effective electoral reform. My dream scenario is that the Liberals and NDP form a one-time coalition, divvying up the ridings according to who does best in each one, and make electoral reform a guarantee.
