Purdy in Nova Scotia?

Wondering if anyone knows anything about Purdy's in Nova Scotia. My grandfather made his way down to Cape Cod from there. I know little to nothing about my roots in Nova Scotia, but have been told that there are quite a few Purdy's there. Thanks, Andrew

A good friend of my wife is a Purdy from Bear River.Don't know much about their roots but Bear River has Planter and Loyalist ancestry mixed with Acadian and First Nations.It was a haven for conscientious objectors to the vietnam War.
