Anything special to do by way of preping to repaint a canvas deck? Do you just scuff up the surface with a little scotch-brite? A little TSP (does TSP muck up the topsides paint when washed off?) Just hose off the deck and paint?
Thanks,
Jeff
TSP will most likely screw up the finish on painted surfaces that it comes in contact with. I'ld probably use something more benign like Simple Green. Do a test in an inconspicuous area to see how it would affect your painted surfaces. Maybe consider using a soft bristle brush to clean/scrub the canvas that you are going to paint. The bristles will get down into the fabric better than a scotch brite pad. Additionally, in any areas that show some stains, mold, etc, I'ld spot clean those a little more aggressively using some diluted bleach. Try to control the run off from your bleach solution, do some kind of a sponge rinse, I'm sure that it could raise hell with your painted/varnished surfaces. Good luck.
