I'll live...I think.....
Sweet thing came for Christian Christmas and we went to Okla.
I had some small business in Ft. Worth so drove there on the tenth...about 4 hour drive. I started back on the 23 and spoke to sweet thing on the phone. I started feeling really tired so pulled over at rest stop for a couple of hours rest. No improvement. Drove down road a few miles and checked into motel, hoping for a few hours sleep, hot shower and fresh start. I woke u8p on the floor in excrutiating pain, couldn't breath, couldn't get up. Had cell phone in pocket, called 911, big guys came for me, cocker spaniel wouldn't let them near me and tried to eat paramedic alive....rushed to hospital...pumped full of dope and I.V.'s then they operated....spent Christmas and New years locked up. Brother and sweet thing got me to OKla city, then back to Md. Sweet thing went back to work and Ukraine for Orthodox Christmas with family...hired alternating big ugly amazons to make sure I do what I am supposed to do....
Gall Bladders izz spare parts, ain't they? :D :D

Welcome back, Chuck. Looking forward to reading your very interesting posts again.
Yeow! Tough to happen while on the road. You & me are both "sans le sac de gall" as they say where I come from, (Philadelphia).
I got a better feeling overall without the darn thing, see if those Amazons can prop you up at the computer a little more often. Best wishes to you & yours. smile.gif

Hi Chuck. Glad you're on the mend. I went through exactly the same thing a few years ago, except I was lucky enough to be at home. Just before surgery I asked the doctor what life was like without a gall bladder, and he said, just like before you lose it. Turned out to be true.

Strange, I suppose, but I like reading your words better than hearing them. Glad you're back, your presence has been missed.
As for missing parts, well we're built with an excess, just like washing machines, cars, etc. They seem to get along OK when there seem to be parts left over. ;)

I don't get over here very often, and chanced to see this. Glad to hear it was a minor thing.
I had mine out some years ago. It dramatically helped my biochemistry to keep cholesterol lower, as now the body just does not take in so much of the dietary fat.
Afterwards I told my doctor I wanted my gallstones. They are really purty things......
Gall bladders are definitely spare parts, and indeed redundant parts. We actually work better without them.
