Forumites of the world unite! Or at least stop by the tent Scot and Co. have so graciously put up for us!

I'll be there on Friday. Don't know what I'll be wearing but look for a guy with big sunglasses and a tan BLACK SEAL Rum Hat!

I'm aiming for Sat. I'll have some kind of boating shirt on. Could be a Blackburn T-shirt.

I'm leaving on Wednesday morning. I'll try to make Cuttyhunk, spend the night and shove off for Newport Thursday morning. I should be there in the afternoon. Look for my 22ft gaff sloop Redwing. Black hull, tan and white topsides. I'll be solo.

I will be there Friday, wearing a T-shirt with a photo of the bow of TALLY HO II on front and the stern on the back.

OK decision time, I am declaring that 11:00 AM, 2:00 and 4:00 PM will be gathering times at the Forum tent. smile.gif Of course other times are OK, heck stay there all day if you want. Now this pertains to Friday because I will be there, tongue.gif so if someone wants to make a decision for the other days, do so. tongue.gif

Alas, I fell off a ladder two weeks ago and am too bunged up for an appearance.
Will recover.
Best to all,
Jim

Definitly going to be at the Harry Bryan demo.
I'm staying at my sisters in Providence on Fri night and taking the Prov/Newport ferry . I'm aiming at the 7:45 AM Ferry. Anyone else on board? I'll be with my bike.

I'm planning to be there on Saturday. I have to go down to URI first so despite all my talk about the ferry I'm going to brave the roads. If things look bad in Newport I'll park at the transit center and walk or catch the bus.

This is what I look like:

If the sun is out I'll usually have on a WIDE brimmed white canvas hat...

Well it's 2am and I'm back at work for my Sat Night shift... This after driving 8.5 hours back from Newport yesterday. :(
Show was good; esp. since SWMBO took the kids and left me to my own devices to wander as long as I wanted!!!
Enjoyed meeting NORM!!! and Hughman and Steven and a few others in passing.

Most of all a big thanks to Scot for all he's done and does. We spent some time yakking about "stuff". Let's not forget what a good thing we have here and keep the riffraff from screwing it up!
Garrett, sorry not to have gotten back to you; left Tue Oh Dark Thirty for BOSTON.!

Well that was a fun day!(Sat)
I met Ed, Steve and son, Hugh and Thad. I missed Norm! I also met up with Stu Fyfe, but we see each other around town on occasion.

Thanks to Scot and WoodenBoat.

Now, was that Spirit and Jon Wilson in the parade with with the W-72's? Particularly liked Steve Clack flying through the fleet with his Tornado(?) cat with the Little Americas cup logo on the sail. Saw Bull and Bear at the IYRS and then out sailing after the show. Quite a sight, of so many.

I went to the show on Friday. It was awesome to see Bull an Bear racing through the moorings. Lots of cool boats and old books. Pretty cool. I'm glad the Pardey's old boat was there.

Saturday I drove down to Mystic and had an even cooler day. Man, is Annie raucous or what? I can't believe they don't sail her. They said maybe next year.

Anyway, too much to talk about on Monday morning. This was my first trip to both the WoodenBoat Show and to Mystic and I'll definately be going back.

I drove down on Friday afternoon, stopping to have dinner with my son and his girl in Cambridge. Arriving in Newport late in the evening I slept out along Ocean Drive listening to the sound of the surf on the beach and watching the flash of Brenton Reef Light. Rain in the early morning woke me up so I mosied over to Fort Adams and spent a while looking at the boats in the basin and along the docks before the show opened. I especially admired Harry Bryan's cabin powerboat and the nice little touches she had.

I was looking forward to meeting others at the Forum tent, but got a phone call that I was needed back in Maine, so had to leave before the show opened. :( I wish I could have met some of you. Next time.

P.S. I saw some nasty accidents on the highway on the way home... all caused by following too close in heavy rain.

Yup, a fine time at another great WoodenBoat show! Thank you Scot and the rest of the crew at WoodenBoat for making it happen, and thanks for the tent to meet at. I hope the weather did not hurt attendance too much. I found it very comfortable weather to wander around in but I imagine others may have been less turned on by it.

I was there on Saturday from 15 minutes after the gate opened until closing time. I meet up with Steven, Stu, Ed and Hugh at the forum tent and Thad on his beautiful boat Sea Harmony.

The traffic in Newport was not NEARLY as bad as I thought it might be -- in fact it turned out to be a breeze (maybe because of the cool, overcast weather and the threat of showers), and because I was there early I was able to get free parking right outside the entrance to the show. I think later arrivers had to park a little further away but I did not hear any complaints about the parking situation.

Has anyone heard where next year's show will be?

We seem to have two threads going on this topic so I just thought that I would note the link to the other one...
