I would like my spouse and I to cruise the inside passage and or gulf islands (as passengers) on a largish sailboat in October (aniversery); can any one recomend a service and what might it cost for a week?

If you GOOGLE sailboat charters in B.C., you'll get a zillion hits.

Does it have to be crewed? Why not go for a bareboat charter? It is you anniversary. :D

What they have laid on for October, I do not know, but the Schooner Zodiac (http://www.schoonerzodia.com) has a great 9 day adventure in Desolation Sound in August for $1200/person. Of course, it's communal berthing with 22 of your shipmates, which might not quite be condusive to anniversary romance... ;) They have no private cabins for passengers at all.

Another potentially interesting idea if it does not absolutely have to be a sailboat: the Alaska State Ferry and/or the BC Ferries that make the inside passage run. I think it's 5 days from Bellingham to Alaska, and another 5 days coming back. I believe they have private cabins available.

Don't know about a sail boat. There are several converted tugs doing the "mini cruise ship" thing. The one below is the first one I found while Googling. There are several.

gert,

I don't have any info on sailboat trips but the Marine Link is a great way to go. They have a trip to Knights Inlet in Oct.
