A little scandal (http://www.wptv.com/dpp/news/state/tony-bennett-christel-house-grade-change-controversy-gop-donors-school-grade-changed-ap-says)that makes for great reading. It has all the vibrant elements required for heated partisan discussion including questions like:

Charter Schools
Cronyism
Those guys
Cover ups

Enjoy!

Wonderful.

Accountability and Transparency are fabulous, except when the data doesn't trend the way your policies claim it should. Not the first time I've seen such squeamishness ...

"They need to understand that anything less than an A for Christel House compromises all of our accountability work," Bennett wrote. . .

that's a beauty

Mr. Barrett, you are an evil man.

Stand back & toss in a cherry bomb, eh?

Sounds like fun to me!

Bennett rocketed to prominence with the help of former Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and a national network of Republican leaders and donors, such as DeHaan. Bennett is a co-founder of Bush's Chiefs for Change, a group consisting mostly of Republican state school superintendents pushing school vouchers, teacher merit pay and many other policies enacted by Bennett in Indiana."Republican state school superintendents pushing school vouchers." As in dismantling the public school system and replacing it with private and religious schools? That get only average grades?

Hmmm, where are the RWWs? I'd expect them to be spinning this like crazy.

Fox hasn't told 'em about it yet - so it can't be true....

Precisely. This is not an item Fox would follow so the Christel House title doesn't resonate, even though we all liked the movie a great deal as it was set in Maine, with the potential to have a mention of lobsters. I'll continue to bump hoping it gets traction, then we can see the spin without the Breitbart and Drudge support quotes since they don't exist. And if Drudge doesn't report it, then it never happened.

It may have been to reduce redundancy but, you left off:

For the third time in two years, Florida needs a new education commissioner.

"This is a disappointment that we are having to face this same leadership challenge again," said Hillsborough school superintendent MaryEllen Elia, who added that she isn't interested in the job and doesn't know anyone who is.

"People qualified to be state chiefs take very seriously the political environment in the states they are considering," he said. "They know changes in elections, changes in state boards, can leave them quickly without a job. That's an issue."How interesting - the reds' political battle for all those little hearts and minds is finally getting a little sunlight and the wizards behind the curtain don't like it.

That is correct. Since the AP wire is the prime reporter, and a reputable one at that, I've been using them as the main source. For me, the bigger issue is the charter school thing as a whole. This is a just bit of dirt that some would rather ignore.

Personally, I welcome all discussion on either side of the issue, but it does seem not to resonate for some folks. It's a bigger story than the coverage indicates as charter schools are identifiably a conservative/libertarian idea, with a generous pinch of fundamentalism added for seasoning.
