Bold mine

Not all good news. Trailer is a Roller Galvanized Trailer with brakes which can handle a 25 ft boat. The boat has not been in the water in the last 4 years, it has a 3.7 litre (190hp) with new starter and a merc IO. lower unit is o.k but the motor needs some lovin, turns o.k but not sure what else is needed.
I figure the trailer is worth $1000.00 and the boat would make a great scuba attraction.

It is a particularly offensive looking 'boat'.

Seems like a great buy for $1,000.

It's a deal for those who work on boats. We have taken several of those over the years, needing some detailing and something minor and resold them for 10's of thousands of dollars. Even if the entire engine needed replaced, a garage kept boat that runs like new is worth more than you may think outside of this place. Running, it looks like a 10-15k boat to me if one was interested in a fast turn around. We have people drive down from up North to buy them nearly as fast as they are listed.

This is the right economy for used/refurbished boats. I would be surprised if it is still there.

That trailer, if its as good as it looks from what I can see in the pics--plus being used in freshwater-- would sell here, used, for about $2500. So, you'd clear a profit on the trailer alone. ( New, a trailer like that is 4K)

Not to my taste, but at a grand it's money waiting for the right person.

Pretty brace happy on the post in the shed / barn it's in. Appears to be three braces or so coming off each post. Pole barn , maybe a modified timber frame ??

Probably a rebuild of an old barn.

About my post - I wasn't trying to say anything about the boat - I thought the seller had said it all. Up here at least, you can find boats of that sort - on trailers - running OK for 2-3K all over the place.

Do we maybe have a business of buying these, taking them elsewhere, fixing 'em up & selling 'em?

That looks like a big boat for a 3.7L engine?
