Not boats, but then again....
I was going through some family records recently and my sister produced a geneological record she found that traced my moms family to someone in Cornwall.I was just wondering if you had ever come across anything that related to a Thomas Callaway? The note next to his name said he recieved a land grant of 766 acres in Charles County City, Virginia 1665.

Greg

peronally, I have not encountered a mention of your relative, but the 1600s are much earlier than my normal study time-period.

I think it would be very difficult to trace Thomas Callaway unless one had at least the parish of his birth or marriage, when a study of the parish registers at the County Record Office could provide a clue.

Sorry to be unhelpful

John

Thanks John, everything helps. I was sort of hoping to find that he was a famous sea capt. or boat builder. ;) Someday a trip will be in order.
On the other side of the family, I haven't been able to even find where my grandfather was born...mysteries.
