This is part of the basic write up for a project I am spearheading.
If any of you are interested enough to get on a mailing list, please e-mail you contact info.
The plan is to have a web site up and going in another month or so.
As of right now, we are hunting down grants to establish a non profit.

My name is Thaddeus J. Van Gilder, and I represent a group of sailors, teachers,
and maritime history buffs who are attempting to build a South Jersey schooner
in the Atlantic City region.
Our goal is to create a sailing classroom for the students of Southern New
Jersey, much in the way that The Jolly II Rover and Philadelphia City Sail serve
Philadelphia.
Our plan is to allow the building of the schooner to become a community
activity, bringing together both young and old for the greater good of all
involved. Once completed, The building facility could continue its fuction as a
education center, where interested parties could attend boatbuilding and
nautically minded classes.
This is a large project. We know. In order to succeed, we are studying how the
successes of the Virgina, The Kalmar Nykle, Gazela of Philadelphia ,Maryland
Dove, and the Pride of Baltimore were attained.
