In the 'Designs&Plans' section is a thread by Craftyshoddmanship, asking for assistance in choosing the best wooden boat kit/design for a Feature Film.

Many Forumites have been participating with suggestions and advice and one kind soul has now agreed to actually work on the project by building the boat.

There is a foundation that promotes Indie films with a cash award that this film is in contention for. They are a close second place out of four films.

If you'd like to see these young ladies succeed with their film about building a wooden boat, they sure could use your vote.

We have until Monday to vote.

Please take a minute to support this worthy project |:)http://www.indiewire.com/article/vot...ontier-or-june (http://www.indiewire.com/article/vote-for-project-of-the-week-will-it-be-sharbat-boone-frontier-or-june)

This link should work:

The girls are a bit behind in the tally, so vote early and vote often. They ask for an email to vote, I just used one of my throw-away email addresses.

See the original thread here http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthread.php?163848-Seeking-plan-suggestions-for-a-boat-to-build-in-a-feature-film and yes they do make their plea sitting n a bath tub.

Does anyone know if they have posted on Sailing Anarchy, that's defintely a me too site these days and their polling would rocket

They dont keep your email. It needs to be the real one for confirmation. Chrome was acting weird. And with Firefox I was able to see that my comments not only went through when it didn't seem to, but it went through three times!

I tried but have no confirmation, yet. An immediate response acknowledged my vote and said "an email has been sent to xxxxgarbagessss@gmail.com (not my email and not even close) so I'm thinking they have a glitch in the confirmation process.

If you look at the actual number of votes, before and after you respond to the confirmation email, you'll see it doesn't actually get counted until you do the confirmation.

Voting confirmation came through as predicted, still trailing by 10%.

I hate to be cynical, but the day the first post by the producer seeking a design went up, I went to the Kickstarter site and saw that the reward for a contributor of $10K or more was a 5 day boatbuilding class at Chesapeake Light Craft, so obviously they had been in contact previously, can't help thinking that a CLC design has already been decided on, and that this is more or less a free advertising plug to court donations. I see that their funding has increased greatly, wonder how many WB forumites have contributed.

Hightop,
I don't understand what your beef is? Maybe CLC was approached to put up a prize? Maybe the plot utilized an 'instant' boat kit from CLC, it doesn't really matter.
The original script called for two different boats, so there is no deception being perpetrated.

Quite the crew of dopey idiots over there on SA. I hope it at least gets these ladies some votes. Kickstart pledges would be even better.

Thanks to everyone who voted.

If we'd had more than two days I'm sure they would have done better than second.

Although it would have been nice to have come first, 'June Adrift' is moving full speed ahead and I'm sure will continue to benefit from the good will and assistance of folks here at the WBF.
