gmail keep asking for mine now. I've had the account for about 7 years and who knows what the password is.
When I was working I had 21 different codes to 'remember' and of course you couldnt, only the 5-6 used all the time. It's a joke really, access codes had to be changed every 3 months, and everyone had the complete list stuck to their terminal permanently. So much for computer security.

Since I don't allow the kid to know her email or any of her passwords, I have to know hers too, then there is the man who calls me up everytime someone wants to connect to his wifi, so I have to remember that one, and all his others, then there is mom who programed computers for 14 years, but can't remember how to get her email or what her passsword is.... And then people wonder why I stare blankly at the ATM going "oh crap!" when THAT password leaves my brain or why I tape long lists of numbers that were assigned to me for school crap on the bottom of my computer LOL

I can't remember current passwords, but I do remember all the family phone numbers from when I was 10, including the out of staters.. WTF!?!?!?!?!
Row, row, row your boat ...

              would be a good password.
I'm lucky that my first language is not very widely spoken, so my passwords are fairly simple words in that.

Forumite "Obscured by clouds" could probably figure out my WBF password though.

At one stage I used an obscure 19th century music hall song, in dialect, as a basis for my codes.

Actually sung by a contemporary of Harry Lauder, a fellow Scot evidently but he died early. My grandmother had it written down by a Scots soldier awaiting transfer to France during WW1. And no I'm not going to tell you the tune, I still find it useful.

I have two, and the Mac OS has an app which stores them all if you let it.

I needed a password eight characters long so I picked Snow White and the Seven Dwarves.

Passwords will eventually die, they'll be replaced by biometrics - voice and/or fingerprint would be my guess. This will be driven by cell phones then will trickle down to pads and tablets, then to devices like thumb drives, and finally desktops.
