Driving up to Groton to be there when he gets off the bus from Fort Dix tomorrow.

Have had his wife for the last two weeks as a delightful house guest (those who have met her at WBS will understand that).

We'll all take off at noon to see if we can get across the CrapAndSee Bridge before the weekend commuters ballock things up.

He's finishing an 11-mo NGuard deploy "at an unnamed airfield" with no break.

Succinct and appropriate.

Your daughter in law is a lovely lady, Vince.

Glad he's home. The over-use of our people and the peculiarities of the wars make it especially hard and I deeply admire people who pull the duty and serve. Please give your son our thanks.

Likewise, glad he's home safe Vince.

I assume and hope he is in one piece. Congrats.

If he, or you, find yourselves in this neck of the woods, give us a holler, room, board, and LWWP, a sail

Great news!

I gotta ask though, if he's at Ft Dix why do you have to drive to CT to meet him? Just curious.

Lindy and I were invited to an Afghan restaurant a couple of weeks ago, a cuisine I had managed to overlook in my years of culinary explorations. We went to enjoy the company, though I had my doubts about why anybody would pick Afghan food (as a cuisine) over Thai, Japanese or Italian. My suspicions were confirmed. Maybe there are better Afghan restaurants than the one I went to, but based on my single experience it will be hard to get me to explore them.
I'll be curious to hear his impressions, should he chose to share them with us through you, Vince. He can start with the food.

Really glad he's home for you, Vince!
