Here are the pics of my finished model, I'm quite happy with the design as a whole, but I've modified the sternpost angle and sheerline since this build.

For those who didn't follow the design and build threads (somewhere on the forum) ; 17ft LOA, 5ft 9'' Beam, 2ft Draft. 1.15 tons displacement. glued ply lapstrake with laminated frames.

Lovely job on the model Robert. I especially like the rudder bracket. More detailed than i wanted to go into on the Marie, which i hope to set sail later this week....ice is melting. Looks good, when do you start the full size?

I have no plans to build this boat for a long time, as I currently have no use for a boat of this type. Its been a hard few months for me; a relationship break-up, 3 family members in hospital (all recovered now) and having to move house twice within 2 months, during which I had to sell most of my stuff including the 14ft dayboat I had spend 2 years restoring. I spent a week sofa surfing and then bought a 19ft plastic twin keeler to live on. Life aboard suits me well, and I'm happier and more content with life than I have been for a long time, so I'll probably start saving up and designing something about 24ft to build as a replacement to the plastic boat.

good luck with the test sail.

Sorry to hear of the life woes. Lived for a while on a 19ft Caprice bilge keeler, but that was down south, couldnt imagine doing it again, nor going through a Northern winter. 24ft Falmouth working/quay punt would probably suit you.....go anywhere.

That's my thinking as well, either a quay punt or a lugger. Needs a wood burning stove for winters.

Sorry to hear about the tough times, but congratulations on the boat. You have now built exactly one boat more than half the "advisors" on this forum.
