Gaaaaa... what a week!
The nadir was probably Wed. night: 2.5 hours of sleep. Only little more than half what I can usually manage, with the ocassional 5 hour "marathon"! :(
To top that, transportation has been erratic: they didn't show on Wed, so I had to drive myself. Thursday they didn't show up and I couldn't drive myself, so I MISSED MY TREATMENT! Actually, a cab did finally show up at 4:50PM for a 2:45-3:15 pickup window. Seems that there was a shortage on Thursday due to all the devout muslims celebrating the end of Ramadin or some such.
I'm getting better and better - and worse and worse... I feel like I'd have more energy except for getting "squashed" by the steroid, it's effects and the necessary other drugs to offset it's sideeffects.
This too shall pass: last treatment is on 11/15. After that, wait 2 months for swelling to subside and more cancer to die off. The radiation interferes with cell division and so, instead of reproducing, at cell division time it dies off. The dramatic reductions thus far have been due to the faster growing cells reaching their time sooner, but there are (presumably) slower growing portions that will die later. Soooo, about Jan 15th I should have a CT scan "from pate to perrinium" to not only see what's happened, but to also do a survey and make sure that there are no other lurkers (like peeking around my liver, kidney, bladder or other vital part. (There WILL NOT be any bad guys lurking in my head - I FORBID it! :scared:
I'd say more, but it's almost 2am and I'm going to try to sneak into bed early while the steroid's not looking... ;)
Night all! Thanks for all the good wishes and kindness you've shown! Blessings upon you all!
