Not fair.
I bought a new radar setup for my boat (another thread in misc boat). So yesterday I am carrying the scanner dome down to the boat. It's big and smooth and round and a little awkward to carry, but not a big problem. But halfway out the dock I feel one of my fingers press thru something. Not a big something, but something small under my finger moved. When I get to the boat I turn it over and find that that something my finger broke thru was a little paper sticker over a screw hole that said, "Warranty void if this seal is broken".Tags: None -

Re: Not fair.
On the bright side... that screw rarely breaks or requires warranty work.“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.”― Mark Twain,Comment

Re: Not fair.
Write. With modern manufacturing, the seal may be an actual part of the device, sealing not only access but weather from the inside of the unit.Await dreams, loves, life; | There is always tomorrow. | Until there is not.

Re: Not fair.
I'll definitely write to them to get it on record, but this was just a paper label over one of the eight or so screw holes. They really don't want you taking the cover off and I really have no desire to take the cover off. But it wasn't anything that keeps the elements out of anything. But at a couple grand, I would kind of like to know the warranty is good.Comment
