Does anyone have any hints about how to go about finding a surveyor who really knows his/her stuff about woodenboats, in the LI Sound or Northeast area?

There are lots of surveyors out there, but how do I find one who knows old wooden boats.

Call up a broker who sells wooden boats and ask the broker for the name of the one surveyer the broker would never use when selling a wooden boat.

Ditto on Klopman and "Giffy" Full's outfit. Paul Hailey is good surveyor with Full's. He did my boat some time back.

Good luck.
