View Full Version : New York Skyline
I just received this photo in an email. It is reported to have been taken from a cruise ship last summer.

Looks legit to me. The N. tower had the antennas, so I'm looking east. The low sun suggests early morning, summer probably around 09:00 EST and likely taken from a cruise ship in the North river (Hudson) just after leaving the docks on that river where they all berth. The flat water suggest slack water. The preferable time to move a large ship from and into a berth.

Nice photo.
It's published somewhere?
The people who lost loved ones 9/11 may see some comfort in it.

First time I ever sailed through New York Harbor, I took a "panoramic" shot with the Statue of Liberty on the far left and the Twin Towers on the right. The "dude" schooner, "PIONEER"(?) was on the horizon in the middle, and a "dramatic" lowering sky over all... I've got to see if I can't dig that out... Be nice to have now.
It isn't published, as far as I know. It came to me from an Aunt who got it from the lady who snapped it. She said everybody who saw it wanted it, so she sent it out in a chain email. Since I'm the only family member that frequents forums and usenet, they asked me to circulate it on the web.
