Anyone in Washington State have leads on where I might find a mooring for a 60' 43-ton sailboat. Might be committed to buying it on Monday and it will need a place to live on the cheap (not at a slip)until my chartering season ends in Maine and I can get west to deal with her. The vessel is sound.
Where's the boat located?

I sunk a mooring for a 53' Skookum off of Kingston harbor. The boat hasn't been there for over ten years and I see the mooring has been taken over. I actually put two of them down. They are sections of freeway dividers. If the area is still open you could dive it and find them. The boat road out a few nasty November blows and the mooring held fine.

Thanks very much for the info. The vessel is in Vancouver at the moment. The need for a mooring will all depend on whether we get the financing, and whether we chicken-out at the last moment. The vessel is now owned by a bank that wants to know by Monday that they can take it off their books. We only discovered this last Wednesday, so there has been a whirlwind of discussion with brokers, loan officers, etc. We are content with the survey, and price, etc, but the logistics of purchasing a boat on the other side of the country to eventually set it up for charter on the other side of the Pacific is a little daunting right now. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, but we still need to be a little sensible...or maybe a lot.
