I'll be visiting my brother in Portland over the Thanksgiving holiday. Any suggestions for boat-related things to do or see there?

The Maine Maritime Museum, in Bath, is only an hour drive east. It was good for a day trip, ten years ago, the last time I was there. Good small boats collection, lobstering display, shipbuilding stuff. Call ahead, their hours may be cut this time of year.

Dave, did you ever build that peapod?
Give me a shout over the weekend and you can come over to see my boat projects. We're hoping to work on my son's Elf over the weekend.

Take a walk through Hamilton Marine and look at boat stuff!

Dave,
If you are near the waterfront or Hamilton's you are in rock throwing distance from me and Victoria. I'll be around for the weekend except dinner time T-Day.
I got the mast into the basement yesterday, so I can't offer you a backbreaking chore but the coffee is always on and a teak planked Ron Carter cat is always a thrill.

Thanks to all for the suggestions.

Chris and Steven, I sent you an email.

The peapod is coming along slowly. I have laminated the stems and knees and am now setting up the molds. Will post photos when it starts to resemble a boat.
