Pictured under the Millenium Cup story line at http://americascup.yahoo.com/ ? A picture of the spectator fleet heading out during the Louis Vuitton Cup? A beauty amidst a fleet of tupperware!

Cheers,

Mark

Yup, it looks like they've updated the features since I sent that. The story was about the glitz and glam of the Millenium Cup participants, but in the middle of the article was a completely unrelated picture of the Louis Vuiton Cup spectator fleet emerging from Waitemata Harbor under sail. The typical harbor shot with the Skytower in the background and a bunch of brightly colored plastic boats and sails milling about, but in front of them all was a beautiful white wooden gaffer (sloop or cutter rig, I'm not sure of the differences when it comes to gaff rigs) with topsail up and 2 headsails flying. Very traditional and definitely a scene stealer amidst all those modern hulls.

It reminded me of some pix you had posted of your boat a while back. Sorry you missed it if it was you. It would have done ya proud.

I found it, but it took a little looking... It "looked" like John's boat, but then there's a few similar, local designs he's teased us with here. Could've been one of them? I meant to save it and compare details but never got around to it... Ah, well.

Ahhhha. Here it is...

Scale is a funny thing isn't it.Thanks for the photo.
That's Moonbeam, the fife.Beautiful but slow.I made a couple of threads on her . She's 95 ft on deck but in the company of all those superyachts of similar size.... it could be just a fleet of afternoon cruisers.
A fact we will dine out on for the rest of our lives is finishing a 28 mile race so far ahead of that boat that she was nearly out of sight behind us. Unbelievable. something is wrong with it.
