In the latest issue (WB172) I see that Barry Bucknell has passed over the bar at 91. In 1963 he designed the Mirror Dinghy (see WB No. 23) for one of his sons. The Mirror Tabloid picked up on it and made it famous. I built Mirror #1916 as my first boat back in the '60's. An estimated 70,000 have been built. She was indeed a lot of fun as was the subsequent Mirror 16 that I built. Thank you Barry.

it's too bad it's so hard to find plans or used mirrors or organization in the U.S. just finished a great read: "The unlikely Voyage of Jack De Crow" about a voyage across England and Europe in a Mirror. smile.gif

I don't think plans were ever available, only the kit.
There once was a sizable fleet on Cape Cod and we had a small group in the Boston area. It's always been bigger in Canada where there is still a sizable fleet in the Ontario area. There is a web site.
