Not my pic by any stretch, but -32C isn't suntanning weather, even if the sun does peek above the horizon for a few hours...

(notice how the trees have shorter limbs on one side? typically short side's north)

As far the the sun dogs go, I've taken a couple pictures in the arctic...

hmmm I wonder why everything unpredictable is called "she". boats, nature, used to be cyclones befor we got PC.
flowers, whales (thar she blows etc), countries....

She's all states, and all princes I ;
Nothing else is ;
Princes do but play us ; compared to this,
All honour's mimic, all wealth alchemy.
Thou, Sun, art half as happy as we,
In that the world's contracted thus ;
Thine age asks ease, and since thy duties be
To warm the world, that's done in warming us.
Shine here to us, and thou art everywhere ;
This bed thy center is, these walls thy sphere.

Cant throw rocks at us :D

Just in case you can see a cached pic at your end.....dangit, the little broken pic symbol doesn't show up......anyway, you get the picture.....metaphorically speaking.

When I was a kid we used to see ICBM missile tests 100 miles to the west from Vandenberg AFB. It would leave long squiggly lines into the sky illuminated by the sun after it set. Sometimes the lines were rainbow colored.

Well, there you go. Add that to the "wish I had a camera" list. Went for a walk around the river bank and there was a fire rainbow in the sky to the North, lasted about 20 minutes. Quite spectacular.

There is a nice discussion of chemtrails in the comments of the original link. Where is RonW these days?

Oh 'good grief', that wasn't there when I posted the link.........signs in the sky! signs in the sky! :(

The one I saw looked like this. (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/2d/Circumhorizontal_arc.jpg)
