I accquired this year the 38 foot schooner Nelly Bly built in 1938 by Vernon Langille. She is the sister ship I am told to the Cimba, formerly Wassoc, (Saga of the Cimba, Maury). I have been trying to find out information on her prior to 1956. If anyone knows anything about her or can direct me to where I might find earlier pictures (as I'm told there are no plans) or who the prior owners were and original name, I would be very grateful. I have already tried Mystic Seaport with no success.

Her previous owner's were Richard DuPuy (who raced her extensively and successfully in Southern California) and Ed Warmington who won the Pacific Cup with her I believe.

I too am interested in finding a surveyor anywhere near this area that really knows wooden boats.

Thank you very kindly, Paula

Unless I'm mistaken Vernon Langille worked out of Tancook Island, Nova Scotia. Just down the coast from me. I'm pretty certain someone at the Maritime Musueum in Halifax would know about this boat.

I'll check into it.
