I'm going to be out of town fellas. The first MBB show I've missed in years.
Let's see the option was to remain home and hang out with you scurvy bastards for a couple of days or sail off the Keys for 10 days.?????

You'd better be south!! Eighteenth letter of the pyrate alphabet and all that.
Anyway, I think we're planning on being up for either Friday night or Saturday night. Not sure which yet.

I'm looking forward to the Show as always. It's a sure sign of spring. Usually accompanied with a big snowstorm. :D I'll try to take lots of pictures again. If there is anything anyone wants me to concentrate on photographically just let me know. The past few years Chris and I have invited people over but many need to get back on the road or prefer to head out to the many bars and restaurants of Portland. I think Hughman will be staying here so maybe we'll throw the doors open for a little elbow bending action, maybe Friday night? The largest group of forumites we've had all in one place was on Friday morning at the food concession area.

Anyone else planning on going Sunday? It looks like I might have to pick up my son at the Portland airport the wee hours of Monday morning, :( so I'm thinking of going to the show Sunday and then wait for him to arrive. Gads, I may have to make 3 or 4 trips to Portland in one week.

So far I've managed to keep Friday open, but I have one of my robot classes Sat AM, so no overnight/late night activities for me.
Friday is open. SWMBO will be in Maryland at a dog show. The New Hampshire Caddy has new Firestones. I need some supplies from Hamilton Marine. I see no reason not to attend.
Plan on leaving no earlier than 8:00AM, same place as usual.
abe
Just a reminder and a bump.
Steve, did I hear that the area around the Hamilton Marine property may become a parking garage? Is that area also destined for an International Marine terminal?
I can't make it Friday, I'll probably be there Saturday.

Andy, we may be three (The Lurker's son may come along). If the, what was it you called it, NH Caddy? is full, not a problem as we can go on our own.
Look forward to seeing all.
No problem Ed.
Looks like the Reverend, with whom I just visited, will not be with us this year, although he sends his greetings. The vehicle can accomodate seven, the Lurker's son is invited of course, so we have room for two more.

I am thinking of going down either Friday evening or Saturday all day. I also, would like to meet some of you folks and take some photos.
http://www.portlandcompany.com/bshow.html
Anyone know of a cheap youth hostel in the area?
More important question:
Does anyone stay in contact with Paul Rollins? And might also know if HE will be there?
I think he may be able to help me with information on SARABANDE, the ketch built in '41 by Bud McIntosh. I'm in search of her plans. She sits patiently next to the barn here. :-/
wjile I am asking questions, Ellis Rowe, are you reading this? Will you be there also? It would be fun to talk with you again.

Ralph, I've got room here Saturday night but I don't know about Friday. Friday might work if you want to share the basement with Hugh. :D
Abe, that area around Hamilton Marine will be part of The Ocean Gateway Project. I think a parking structure with a park on top of it. Pretty clever, huh? And a new ferry terminal and a berth for the Scotia Prince, too.
Looking forward to the show. We've got some white stuff forcast, whad I tell ya?

Sure, Ralph. You can pump Hugh for Bud MacIntosh info. His friend, whose name I can't remember, not only has one of Bud's boats but used to work with him too. Maybe he could hook you up with him.

Ok, who can make it to my house after the show on Friday for some of Kwami's Famous Peanut Soup? With some Hampshire Special Ale of course. :D And maybe some leftover Irish Soda Bread.
Maybe we could meet at the concession area for coffee around 11:30. Unless someone has a better time/place. I'll bring some copies of directions to my house and leave them with Thad at his Redds Pond Boatworks booth. (Is that OK Thad?)
See you there!

Still wish I could make it but it's not to be.
So, to protect you from atypical weather like last year I've sent you a nice NEster to bank the snow nicley.
Have fun.
Checking the weather for Friday, looks like a 40/60% chance of snow showers. I will be making the 90 minute drive either way.
11:30AM in the snack/coffee area upstairs as we did last year sounds like a plan.
Hugh, are you planning to be there with the Museum crowd?
Steve, not sure if we can grace Portland with our presence much later than 3:00 or so, but sure sounds good.

I can only make it Sunday, after a business meeting on Friday and Saturday in NYC. I'm going to Maine Medical to visit an uncle in hospital before heading back south on Tuesday.
Any forecast for weather that far out??

From the photos, there's little doubt that Thunderbird and Advent are close cousins. Same homeport, too. When is the (re)launch planned?
