Use the search feature. There have been several threads here about the Tilton.

thanks, but I was in contact with the guy who owns it. last word is he was in Myrtle Beach. this was while ago. there's also a schooner that's just sitting in Myrtle Beach Yacht Club that apparently has been abandoned. I'm wondering the two are the same.
Here's te link Mr. Bauer was talking about. http://media5.hypernet.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=005967
I would not bother reading it, the opinions are stated fairly rudely, but the long and short of it is that you would be looking at a total rebuild if you were to take this project on. Would probably be cheaper to build from in new construction.
It might make a fun lawn ornament though

I think this is the same boat that my wife and I went to look at for Dingo. St. Simon's is a little closer to Savannah than Western Australia. It was a nice day trip.
I sent Dingo a long e-mail and some photos, which he posted here. The long and the short of it is that this schooner probably needs a lot of tender loving WORK. Not impossible, but be aware of what you are getting into.

And an appreciative thank you for your and your good wifes time in that instance Art!
If its that Tilton Id have to be a bit surprised if hes just left it as abandoned unless there was a lot more wrong with her than what shows in the photos and your and minors visits...
I cant get it to come up on Ladybens site anymore so I had figured that its been sold... would be worth while in contacting Clark Voss the owner me... I found him to be a very approachable and likable fella Im sure he would set you straight.
As has been said be aware much work and cost involved if it is... doable for sure but hang onto yer hat when it comes down to it!
Now I think on it I wonder how young Chris is getting on with Etain?? his new little nipper is probably taking all his time energy and resources Id reckon
thanks, that was an interesting thread. the owner has not abandoned it. he emailed me finally. and
frankly, I'm happy about it. I was looking through the bank accounts and counting up my available cash. my understanding is it's a "overall" solid boat, but naturally needing work. not a total rebuild. guess I'll go back to sailing my little Tartan.
