Any formites with any personal knowledge of this vessel or builder? Going to look at it in Ontario on the first. Built in Nova Scotia in '69. Been doing reenactments for Canadian Govt for around 10 years. Rosborough replica gaff-rigged square topsail ketch.

First of what? Where else are you going? Bought tickets yet?
A.F.Theriault is still in business in Meteghan, Nova Scotia (between Yarmouth & Digby on the shores of the Bay of Fundy), but do steel, aluminum & FRP nowadays. They built many boats to Rosborough designs. Most were softwood to keep costs low, so be diligent in your checking for decay. You may want to check out Bob Rosborough's book, "Confessions of a Boatbuilder", in which he mentions details of his working with Artur Theriault.

Ed, sorry, first of Oct. Bought ticket to Syracuse yesterday oct 1-3. Rental car, drive to Kingston, or somewhere therabouts.Wanna go? Thanks for the words on Arthur Theriault. The boat is Mahogany over oak, but has some plank to frame rot, from what I understand. I'll know soon enough. Better buy an awl when I get there. Crossing the border with one might be terrorism.

Ed, I'm off Tuesday a.m. bound for Ontario to go over the vessel. Most questions about repair, etc. answered so it's time to poke about. Loaded up with cameras, film. Budget will not allow an extended stay this trip, sorry. Also, I have 4 MRI's scheduled for friday and saturday. I'll let you know what's up when I get back. Later, Gary
