(I hope I'm posting this in the right place)

I'm relatively new to the forum. I received a notice that I had a PM from someone. I read the message and sent a quick reply that I got the message and would check out the link they sent. After I went off and explored the link, I came back and sent another message (again, as a reply to the original PM), telling them how valuable I found the information and thanking them once again.

Here's my question: I don't see either of my replies anywhere. In my Inbox, I see the original PM from the other person. It has the green arrow icon that indicates that I replied to the message. But I don't see either of my replies anywhere. I expected them to be either attached to the original PM in my Inbox or sitting in my Sent Messages folder, but I don't see my replies in either place. Is this normal behavior? Am I missing something?

Thanks-

Welcome to the forum, drum!

Select 'Private Messages' (Menu bar on top)

Select 'General Settings' under 'My Settings'

There are two options;
Save a copy of sent messages in my Sent Items (http://forum.woodenboat.com/private.php?folderid=-1) folder by default
Don't save a copy of sent messages

I hope it works for you.

Cheers!

Thanks, Syed. For some reason, "Don't save a copy of sent messages" was checked. Hopefully, that fixed it.

Thanks again!

So, drum - from your moniker, would one be safe in assuming you hang about with musicians? ;)

I thought it was a chaw reference... <shrugs> :D

I was kinda hoping he was another redfish fanatic.

We'll never know unless he's brave enough to come back!

You must be glad to back home with Scooter, Doug...? I get a big smile on my face when I think about you seeing each other after you being gone so many weeks.

I figured that "Drum" was an abbreviation of "Dark rum".....

...and the prize goes to... (drum roll seems appropriate here?)... Flying Orca!

Yep, used to drum (and play other instruments) in a Renaissance dance band, and also drumming for a bellydance troupe. Tar, doumbek, and tabor mostly.

(Though I do like dark rum. But no chaw, thanks. And who's redfish?)

P.S. The whole "Sent messages" thing is working now - thanks, Syed!

Ah, I have some friends who would be all over that kind of thing. Plenty of musicians here in the Bilge, myself among 'em. Welcome, try not to get too much of it on ya, and have a good time!

Nope, don't mind at all. *sigh* I think I'm going to have to build this boat. I find myself picking names... Is that a bad sign?

Oh, I thought she was your boat and we will know something about her. |:)

Wishing you luck with your plans, certainly it is a good start.

Thanks - the boat is a Vivier "Seil 18" - I started a thread about the design over in the designs and plans forum: http://forum.woodenboat.com/showthread.php?154059-Vivier-Seil-18
