I am almost finished with the planking of my boat. I recently discovered that in some places due to winter humidity I'm sure; some of the seams are tight together. Not good if they expand out again in summer and I caulk and pay the seams and they repeat the expansion again in winter. So is there some method (simple I hope) to increase the size of the seams so they will hold the caulking and seam goop? I thought about using a router or dremel tool with a tapered bit and a base with a pin in front and one behind the bit; traveling in the seam. What have you done or thought might work? If I understand correctly, you've got a "good" problem. Leave 'em alone. If, at pre-launch painting time, you notice your seams still "pucker" out a bit, sand, plane or grind 'em smooth and call it good. Repeat as necessary and thank your lucky stars your not wondering about fitting softwood "splines" to fill gaping holes in there! ;)
