Apparently there are still people that believe in the trickle down theory.

Romney Defends Major Tax Cut For Big Oil (http://thinkprogress.org/election/2012/07/27/596961/romney-defends-major-tax-cut-for-big-oil/) | The Romney campaign released a statement Thursday defending his plan to lower the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 25 percent. The plan amounts to a major tax cut for Big Oil, a Center for American Progress Action Fund report (http://www.americanprogressaction.org/issues/2012/07/romney_big_oil.html)finds. The 10 percent drop would save the five biggest oil companies — BP, Chevron, ConocoPhillips, ExxonMobil and Shell — $2.3 billion a year in taxes, on top of the billions in tax breaks and deductions currently in place. The Romney campaign said that, with the new tax cut, “…our job creators are better able to grow their businesses, put people back to work, and turn our economy around.” In 2011, these five companies made $375 million in profits every day, or $261,000 per minute. In order to preserve these remarkable profit margins, Big Oil is putting this money to good use, pouring hundreds of millions (http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2012/07/24/574161/what-five-oil-companies-did-with-profits/) of dollars into anti-clean energy ads.

I don't understand how anyone who isn't wealthy, white, and male can consider voting for this man. All those young folks need to think about who will fight in those new wars he wants to start: draft here we come.

No you don't. You said you weren't eligible. When I asked where you served in Viet Nam, you said you were not eligible.. Like I said, my two older brothers got snatched (I'm 52) and number 8 out of 9 kids. Both came home, but not without damage. I spent 10 years fishing with my brother Thomas just to keep him from killing himself. As Usual Boobys, your full of ****!! Fucking Pussy!!

Barry, please delete that before Scot sees it!
Do it just for me! Okay?

You libs never learn. Repetitive, play-by-play bashing has a self canceling effect. Notice that the shock value to your repeated attempts to discredit your opponent have almost zero reaction these days? You've Peter'd out already and it isn't even August yet. Oh the emotions they be high.

It appears that you lefties are really worried about Obama losing this election. That also doesn't help. I didn't really think that was possible, but now it appears by the tactics here that it's a real possibility. You folks are even more tiring than the campaign ads!

You go, Barry. You'll show Bobbys and the keepers of the WBF a thing or two. And you wonder why you folks just can't seem to get your points across. LOL

Does anyone think "big oil" doesn't hire a lot of people?

Sure they do. They've also made record profits lately, partially due to our governmnents efforts to protect their asse(t)s.

Shouldn't they be required to kick in a little something towards those efforts?

Doesn't 'trickle down' equate to jobs? Or should they just mail checks like welfare?

In a word, no.

That word should have been "yes".

The 'trickle down' theory clearly includes jobs as part of it's deal...

"Trickle-down economics" and "the trickle-down theory" are terms in United States politics to refer to the idea that tax breaks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_breaks) or other economic benefits provided by government to businesses and the wealthy will benefit poorer members of society by improving the economy as a whole.[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle-down_economics#cite_note-1) The term has been attributed to humorist Will Rogers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Will_Rogers), who said during the Great Depression (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Depression) that "money was all appropriated for the top in hopes that it would trickle down to the needy."[3] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle-down_economics#cite_note-2) The term is considered pejorative by some proponents of tax cuts (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_cut).[4] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle-down_economics#cite_note-3)
Proponents of these policies claim that if the top income earners are taxed less that they will invest more into the business infrastructure and equity markets (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stock_market), it will in turn lead to more goods at lower prices, and create more jobs for middle and lower class individuals.[citation needed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Citation_needed)] Proponents argue that economic growth flows down from the top to the bottom, indirectly benefiting those who do not directly benefit from the policy changes. However, others have argued that "trickle-down" policies generally do not work,[5] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle-down_economics#cite_note-4) and that the trickle-down effect may be very slim, if indeed it even exists at all.[6] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trickle-down_economics#cite_note-Sowell-5)

So one more time...

"Does anyone think "big oil" doesn't hire a lot of people?"

(Poorly worded sentence, sorry.)

I can see why its a good idea not to give personal information.

No rebukes from liberals.

This is the reason i do not feel welcome at WBF functions.
