There has been mention in the past about the anchorage in Estero Bay at Fort Myers Beach.

I had one shot left in the camera as I flew by on Monday, October 2nd so here it is!

The view is looking West from over San Carlos Island at 1100 ft Altitude, one of the marinas at the bottom of the picture would be Olson Marine Service. They have been the best of the lot of the marine ‘haul-out’ establishments that I have used here during the past twenty five years.

This is truly a fine place to have access to the local waters and you could spend years and never get to all the places easily available on the water.

As of June of this year, the City Government had passed an ordinance establishing control of the anchorage and I have provided a link (second one) as well as ‘Towns’ web site (first link). I have no need to use the anchorage, so I have not read the rules but those who desire to visit should look at them. http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/smile.gif http://media5.hypernet.com/~dick/ubb/smile.gif
