Due to unforeseen matters I am not going to be able to make it to Madisonville. :( Was sure lookin' forward to meeting some of y'all.

Have a good time and travel safely. (If Isadore heads up that way they may have to cancel the show.)

Sorry you can't make it, Pelican--but if Isidore keeps on track, none of us will....will catch you another time.

You know Ariel, like I do, that this would not be the first time a hurricane caused them problems. They really should consider doing what Biloxi did and move it to Spring. Then they wouldn't have to worry about storms.

Didn't they have to cancel the show when Georges came through? I was living in Florida then and trying to recover from damage (sank my boat--ripped the roof off my building) caused by Hurricane Earl and didn't make the show. We have had a quiet season this year and very hot. It figures everything would pick up at once. I would like them to change it to an April date--the weather is usually pretty good then....

I was planning on heading toward Madisonville Friday morning, but I decided to wait for a few days to see what the hurricane does. I am in a nice hurricane hole now, and it didn't seem wise to leave it at this point. I could probably make it in two days, but I would rather take 4 or 5 days to make the trip. If the weather clears up by Wednesday, I should still be able to make it, but if not, we may have to go by car.

Yes, I think it was canceled then and it was also canceled when another (can't remember which) came thru about 5 or 6 years ago (Opal maybe?). That was when Biloxi decided to move to May. They used to be - Biloxi 3rd weekend and Madisonville 4th weekend in September. A lot of folks would make Biloxi and then make a lazy trip to Madisonville. These were the folks what was wealthy enough they didn't have to go to a job during the week. Sorry to say I don't suffer from that problem.
I mean, I do have a six figure income for sure. Just that I have a period between the second from the right and the third from the right. :D

Hopefully Isidore will blow itself out this week--but the Gulf is very disturbed and I'm not going to take a chance on the changing its mind and heading for LA while I'm on the schooner. Will have to catch the show next year. Oh! Well, the best laid plans....

Yea, the latest computer models (however good they are) have the New Orleans area as the eastern edge. Not only would that cancel the heck out of the show it would put 'us' on the east side. OK boys and girls can you spell HIGH tide and STRONG wind. Don't reckon as how we needs all that, eh Ariel.

Best wishes to all of you along the gulf. Take care.
And just to add spice to the mix, have you seen LILLI?

I am disapointed also, but if the Isidore does what the experts predict, it looks like Luisiana is tha last place I would want to be. I guess I'll hang around Mobile for a few more weeks before I start heading back to South Florida.

Bud, yea been watching her too. Usta date a Lilli, wild child. Many many years ago but still "memorable".

Mark, you probably would be better off to stay up this way until hurricane season is over. At least if we get blown away we'll all go together :D

The only scedule I have is to be in Ft Myers Beach, FL by early December, so I have plenty of time to mess around in these parts.
