Finally, at long last, it was my turn!! I found this Ken Basset Liz 18' pulling boat on Craigslist. I have been lusting after a Liz for years, but I really don't have the shop space or time to build one, and all of the ones I've seen for sale before this were out of my league.
I called the number and was first in line, in fact the owner said I called about three minutes after the post showed up on Craigslist! It turned out he lives about a half hour from my wife's brother, so I asked if he would mind if my brother-in-law came to look it over. He had no problem with that, so I called up B-I-L and asked him if he'd be willing to go look at it for me and see what kind of shape it was in. I have him the number to call and was expecting to hear back later in the afternoon. About an hour later I had a call from B-I-L. He said it was my last chance to turn it down, because if I didn't want it, he was going to take it!!
B-I-L fronted the cash to pay for it, they did the bill of sale and other paperwork and Sunday I went to New Hampshire to pick it up.
Here's my new Ken Bassett Liz:
Boat, oars and trailer were $400.00. My wife said I've been acting like a kid on Christmas morning.
