iTunes approved our new app today. It now supports Retina.

Thanks, Carl

Any difference for we older model iPad users?

orbb -- I'm guessing not -- but I confess I don't have any idea.

If I downloaded the app, what would I do with it?

I have a digital subscription to Woodenboat, and use the app to read it on my iPad. It is a nice interface, and the graphics are very good, even on the first generation iPad. That being said, I am still reading it on an iPad, as opposed to on paper, which takes some getting used to. I went digital when my first subscription ran out to solve the issue of my wife saying "do we have to keep all these old copies of this magazine"?

Jeeeez, orbb. "Old copies"? How about, better: "back issues"?

Carl - I was quoting the boss, who does not have same level of appreciation for Woodenboat that I do. Then again, considering who she married, her standards are somewhat suspect....:)

The "WoodenBoat for iOS" app still seems to be the Feb 08 2012 version. Is that the right one?

You may want to delete that one and install the new one, Chris. If you have the new iPad, that is.

Thanks Carl, I guess it shows up through the Newsstand app now instead of a stand-alone app. I got the new version and it looks like you can zoom in more than with the previous version, which is great, but it seems like the scan still could stand to be sharper on retina display. In particular the text on pages still looks muddy. A slightly enlarged version of two screenshots is below... the iOS app version is on top, the bottom is the PDF file version of the same issue being viewed in iBooks.

Thank you, cprinos. I will copy this and send to our digitizers. I do believe we have now an even more-up-date version. I am told that users will be automatically notified when they log in to iTunes.

Thanks, Carl
